Christmas came early for Emma (literally)

What would happen with a small business that gets prime time advertising on national television? At iZettle we’re now giving that opportunity to our users, and the results so far are nothing short of spectacular.
For Emma Cornes, Christmas came early this year – quite literally. Emma is a small business owner, who designs beautiful tweed bags out of her home studio based near Chester, Farndon, where she lives with her husband and business partner Pete, and her dog.
For the past week now, Emma has been part of the 15 Seconds of Fame campaign, which has let her advertise her business on UK national television. In the campaign, we’re giving away a full week of TV commercial time to seven iZettle users. In other words – 15 seconds of fame. Emma has been doing some advertising before, but naturally on a very small scale, on online platforms like Facebook and Google. Now, her experience with 15 Seconds of Fame has her thirsting for more.
“The short-term gains have been great, but we suspect the biggest thing we’ll get from it is the longer term brand awareness and recognition,” she said.
For Emma, who started her business two years ago out of her bedroom, the results couldn’t have been more awe-inspiring:
- Traffic to her site has increased by a whopping 2,000 % since the campaign started.
- She has added hundreds of people to her email newsletter subscribers and social media followers.
- Her overall sales has increased by over 400 % over the course of the week.
- Emma had to pre-launch her new bag collection two weeks early as she was about to completely sell out of stock.
