iZettle Releases API for Chip-Card Payment Solution
13 de junio de 2012
STOCKHOLM – June 13th, 2012: iZettle today announced its application programming interface (API) is now available to developers that want to integrate the social payment company’s transaction solution into their apps.
iZettle’s popular mini chip-card reader and app turn an iPhone or iPad into a credit card terminal, making it affordable for small businesses and individual service providers to accept payments anytime, anywhere.
“We started iZettle to make it possible for everyone to take secure card payments,” said Jacob de Geer, iZettle’s CEO. “Now we’re making our API available so even more merchants and apps can use our solution.
A food delivery company or event organising platform may already be using iPhone or iPad apps to take orders or issue tickets but often they can only take card payments online and not at the point of delivery or event. iZettle’s API will streamline this type of sales process by allowing companies to integrate our payment solution with their procurement or company applications. Ultimately, our API makes it easier and faster for users to process sales,” concludes de Geer.
The company’s solution is EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) approved, and compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
With more than 50,000 users today, iZettle has increased the number of point of sale (POS) card acceptance terminals in the Nordics by 10 percent since it began operation in Sweden in August 2011 and began expansion to Denmark, Finland and Norway earlier this year.
