Identify your brand and your vision
First, ask yourself what you are and what you want to be. If the answer is: “We want to serve the best cinnamon scrolls in the country and be 100 % organic in 2 years”, what you actually do needs to reflect this. Use it as your mantra, and let it guide your every move and decision.

Consider your target groups
Who is interested in what you are offering? When you know who you’re trying to serve – think about how you can actually find and help them.

Decide on your Unique Selling Proposition
Why are you special? What do you offer that nobody else has? It does not need to be really unique as long as you make it yours and could be anything from the greatest customer service to the coolest pizza boxes or the best home-baked vanilla cupcakes. Just make it known to everyone. And be proud of it too.

Choose pricing and discounts strategy
A picture says more than 1000 words? The price of your product does too. Consider what it costs you, what value your potential customer would put on it – and how it’s positioned by possible competitors.

Get out there
In the end, running a business is all about getting and keeping good customers. That’s why you always need to be out there, meeting new people, scouting for possible customers and could-be partners. Bring other people onboard your mission and make them excited about what you do. Together you’ll pave the way for success!
