Connect the iZettle Reader via Bluetooth

1. In-app pairing

To connect your iZettle credit card reader with your smartphone or tablet, open the iZettle app and go to Settings > Card readers > Connect reader. Now simply follow the instructions on the screen.

Connect the Card Reader Pro Contactless via Bluetooth

1. Activate Bluetooth on Pro Contactless
The first time you start the card reader it will automatically go into pairing mode. At any other time:
- Press the Bluetooth button and release when the Bluetooth pairing symbol is displayed. 

2. Activate Bluetooth on smartphone/tablet
- Open “Settings” on your smartphone/tablet.
- Turn on Bluetooth.
- Wait for “iZettle ###” to appear and tap it to connect. (The ### are the last 3 digits of the card reader’s serial number, which you can find on the back of the device.)

3. Confirm connection
A six digit code will appear on the smartphone/tablet. The same code should appear on the card reader.
- Confirm on both devices to pair them. 

4. Open the app
- Open the iZettle app and wait (up to 15 sec.) for the devices to connect. When the reader displays “Insert/swipe card”, you are all set.

Connect the Card Reader Pro via Bluetooth




1. Turn on the card reader
- Turn on the card reader by pressing the small, black power button on the left side of the card reader. It takes up to 45 seconds to start the card reader. 

2. Activate Bluetooth on the Card Reader Pro
- Press and hold the OK button on the card reader for 5 seconds.
- Release the button when the Bluetooth symbol starts blinking.

3. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone or tablet
- Open ”Settings” on your smartphone or tablet and switch on Bluetooth.
- Wait for ”iZettle ###” to appear, and then tap ”Pair/Connect” (### are the last three digits in the serial number [S/N], which you can find on the back of the Card Reader Pro).

4. Confirm connection on the Card Reader Pro
- Confirm the Bluetooth connection on the Card Reader Pro by pressing the OK button.

5. Confirm connection on your smartphone/tablet
- Wait for a few seconds, then press confirm on your smartphone or tablet. This has to be done within 30 seconds.

6. Open the app
- Open the iZettle app. When the display says "Insert/Swipe card", you can start taking payments with your Card Reader Pro!

How do I know if the Card Reader Pro is connected?
- Go to your Bluetooth settings on your smartphone or tablet. When the Card Reader Pro is connected, it should say “iZettle ### Connected”.
- Open the iZettle app. Both the app and the Card Reader Pro should say “Insert/Swipe card”.
- Make sure that you press “Pair/Connect” on both your smartphone or tablet and the Card Reader Pro. 

Problems connecting a card reader via Bluetooth

First, make sure that you have the latest version of the iZettle app.

The card reader continues to say “Welcome!” when I have the iZettle app open.
- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone or tablet and tap “iZettle ###” to connect.
- Go back to the iZettle app and wait for 15 seconds.

My smartphone or tablet says “iZettle has lost the connection to your card reader”.
- Go to the Bluetooth settings on your smartphone or tablet and tap on “iZettle ###” to connect.
- Open the iZettle app and wait for 15 seconds.

The card reader doesn’t show up in the list of available devices in the Bluetooth settings on my smartphone or tablet.
- Shut down the card reader: Press and hold the small, black power button on the left side of the card reader.
- Restart it and follow these steps to connect.
 
The Bluetooth symbol on the card reader doesn’t stop blinking.
