Refunds

Refunds with iZettle are easy! Full refunds can be done in the app or at my.izettle.com. For now, partial refunds are only available in the iOS app.* Refunds can be made up to 365 days after the transaction date.

Important information about refunds
 

This is how you do a partial refund:

(Only available for iOS and for payments taken using product library items)
  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Go to the menu by tapping .
  3. Then tap Receipts.
  4. Choose the payment you want to refund and tap Refund.
  5. Select the product(s) you want to refund > tap Next.
  6. Enter your password if you’re refunding a card payment, otherwise simply press Confirm.
 

This is how you do a full refund:


In-app:
  1. Sign in to the app.
  2. Go to the menu by tapping .
  3. Then tap Receipts.
  4. Choose the payment you want to refund and tap Refund.
  5. On iOS: Tap select all if the payment was taken using the product library and you want to refund all items from that purchase > then tap Next.
  6. Enter your password if you’re refunding a card payment, otherwise simply press Confirm.
On my.izettle.com
  1. Sign in to my.izettle.com.
  2. Go to Sales > then go to Receipts.
  3. Select the payment you want to refund (you might need to adjust the dates to locate it - or search with the receipt number).
  4. Click on the payment you want to refund > then click Refund.
  5. Enter your password if you’re refunding a card payment > then confirm that you want to process the refund by clicking Refund.
 

Important information about refunds:

- You can refund both cash and card payments.
- Refunds of card payments might not be visible immediately in your customer's bank account but may take a few banking days depending on your customers bank. 
- Card payments can be refunded up to 365 days after the payment took place.
- If you want to refund a card payment, the amount will be transferred back to the same card that was used to pay for the product/service.
- When you refund a card payment, the fee will be paid back to you.
- To issue a refund on a card payment, you need to have sufficient funds in your iZettle account. The account balance must be at least the same as the amount that you want to refund. You can set your minimum account balance when you sign in to your account on my.izettle.com, simply click on your name/business name in the top menu and go to Settings > Account settings > Minimum account balance, click Yes and enter the amount you want to keep in your iZettle account.

What you cannot do

- Partially refund custom amount payments.
- Process partial refunds using the Android app (we’re working to make it possible soon!)
- Refund to a different card than the one used for the original payment.
