Supporting our community during COVID-19

We asked you how we could support you during this time. Here’s what we’ve done.

Working to support you

iZettle’s purpose is to help people get access to the tools they need to start and run their own business. That was true ten years ago when we began, and remains true today. And we have been blown away by how our community has responded to the unique issue we’re now facing.

Across hospitality, retail and beyond, we’ve seen you adapt quickly and innovatively to an unprecedented challenge, finding new ways to run and grow, in order to support your communities. We are in awe, and want you to know we are working tirelessly to support you.

What we’re doing:

We received an overwhelming response to the survey we sent out asking how we could help you navigate the changes you’re facing. In line with your feedback, we‘re lightening the load by temporarily suspending iZettle Pro for Hospitality subscription fees1, as well as reducing fees on our online payment features. We’ve also opened up our regular support line after hours for urgent matters. This line will be open until midnight on weekdays and calls will be routed to our English speaking support team.

As the situation develops, we’re continuing to work on new ways to support you and will keep you posted on updates. If you haven’t yet had the chance to take part in our survey, follow the link here.

We’re working to implement changes from across the industry, too – we’ve now increased our card reader’s contactless payment limit to £45 in line with Mastercard, Visa, and American Express.

Connect with your community on ForeverLocal.com

Introducing Forever Local: a brand new website connecting communities with the independent businesses around them.

The idea is simple: we want to enable you to tell your customers exactly how they can support you right now – whether it’s by ordering-in dinner with your brand new delivery or pick-up service or buying a gift voucher. And for shoppers, Forever Local creates a way to discover and rally around the independent businesses in their local area.

Payment options that could help your business now

Consumer behaviours are changing. As well as creating new ways to help you navigate this situation, we also have some existing options that could be helpful. Find out more about our alternative online payments methods below, which can help you to get paid remotely.

Payment Links - Generate a one-time link via the iZettle Go app that you can send to your customer by text message, Whatsapp, social media or email. Discover more here.

Invoicing - Create and send an online invoice directly in the iZettle Go app and we’ll do the rest. You can find more information here.

Gift cards - If your customers are looking for ways to support you, gift cards are a great way to do so. Create, sell and redeem your gift cards, right in your iZettle Go app. Find out more here.

Contactless payments - The iZettle Reader 2 is contactless – simply hold the card within 2 inches of the reader’s display to take a payment. As always, you can take payments from all major credit and debit cards, including Visa, MasterCard and American Express, as well as payments through Samsung Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Find out more here.

Reach your customers quicker

During this period, getting your deliveries out on time can be a challenge. That’s why we’ve teamed up with the delivery service Stuart – if your customers can’t go to you, you can go to them.

Stuart’s team of independent couriers means that businesses looking to sell remotely can reach their customers quicker. Stuart have also taken measures to create a safe environment for both clients and courier partners with their contact-free delivery service.

Move your business online now

In response to the Covid-19 situation, we’ve chosen to partner with Wix to give merchants like you an additional option to move their businesses online quickly.

A Wix Store is simple to set up and means your business can be open 24/7, allowing you to keep selling to your existing customers and attract new ones as well. To help you get started, Wix has created an importer function for your iZettle products into Wix and provides iZettle merchants with an exclusive discount on their premium plans.

Depending on your specific needs, you of course still have the option to sell from your existing site, build an online store or set up shop on social media with iZettle E-commerce.
