London's Summer of Colour!
23 juli 2014
Over the last weekend of June, London saw the mighty Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park put to great use once again. “But the Olympics aren’t being held for another two years, plus they’re in Rio!” is what you’re probably thinking - well, don’t be mistaken; the activities that went on over that weekend were just a bit different to those we saw two years ago. Think colour, music, sunshine, food and drink and even more colour!
We teamed up with the guys from Event by Event who managed the bars at Holi Festival of Colours in London this year. With 5 token booths set up around the event, each fitted with iZettle devices and iPads and our own team acting as queue busters, the festival go-ers could exchange their usual form of currency for that of something more interesting. These tokens could then in turn be exchanged for all things good; greasy food, ice cold drinks and most importantly, little bundles of magic - colour powder. Although the dress code was predominantly white, after a few minutes of being inside the park, this was certainly debatable; a sea full of colours of the rainbow splashed across the park and everything and everyone there!
David Kenny, Operations Director of Event by Event was relieved to have our system up and running at the event, “iZettle's quick transaction process is something that both impresses our customers and ensures staff are able to move from one customer to the next without any hold-ups”. With token sales flying (along with coloured clouds through the air), it was great to be able to keep up the pace that the keen ‘festivalites’ were running at.
A whole new meaning of the word “vibrant” was brought to life at the Olympic Park that weekend, the colours bringing everyone together in a state of magical euphoria. We suggest you keep your eyes open for the next tour!
