4 tips for really getting started with iZettle

July 5, 2013

You’ve downloaded the app, created your very own iZettle account and laid your hands on a brand new card reader. You’re good to go, but now what? Where to start? Today we’ve compiled a super easy step-by-step guide that will help you get started and really make the most of your iZettle experience.

Try out the service – then complete the iZettle experience with accessories
These days you can use iZettle with a number of different accessories. From the beautiful iPad stand from the guys at Flatscreenarms, to receipt printers and cash drawers from Star Micronics and handy little pouches for safe-keeping of your card reader when you’re closing up your shop for the day. A quick search on will land you more options than you can trawl through in a day.

Use beautiful images for your profile picture and product library
Did you know that your profile picture appears on every single email receipt that you send to your customers? Take the chance to make a nice second and lasting impression by uploading a beautiful picture that really represents your company. And if you’re having trouble taking nice images, a free tool like Snapseed will make photo editing super easy. Your customers will appreciate and remember the nice look with just a little extra work for you.

Print signs to let your customers know you accept card payments
Make sure potential customers know you take card by placing the stickers that came in the card reader box in a high visibility area in your store. You can also print large signs with detailed information about the iZettle service for curious customers, find it in our Help section.

Start selling – and follow up on all your sales
A few weeks back we shared our top tips for being smart with sales statistics here on the blog. Some of the things we didn’t mention back then were the possibility to add Staff accounts that let all your team members log in to their own accounts and still accept payment on behalf of your business. This is super handy if you’re organising selling competitions – or simply want to reward your best performing employee!

That’s all for today, but make sure to check back in here on the blog next week. Then we’ll be sharing tips for how to market your new iZettling business.
